Advice first
Buy the reference number, not the story. Every Milgauss built since 2007 is a reference 116400 or 116400GV. Ask the seller for the reference, the serial, and the dated warranty card before any money moves. A seller who cannot name the reference is not a seller worth paying.
Skip replicas. A so called 1:1 super clone is a counterfeit. It carries no Rolex warranty, no service record, and no trade in value with a dealer. Customs officers seize shipments. Resale platforms pull listings. The money saved on a copy is money lost on the watch.
Price ranges in 2025
Rolex retired the Milgauss in 2023. Retail at discontinuation was $8,650 for the 116400GV. Dealer asking prices on the secondary market now run:
Rolex Milgauss Review: Picking the Right Reference
- 116400, black or white dial, plain sapphire: $8,000 to $10,500
- 116400GV, green sapphire, black dial: $10,000 to $13,000
- 116400GV with Z-Blue dial: $12,000 to $16,000
These are asking prices, not closed sales. Case condition, box and papers, and service history move the number 15 to 25 percent. Verify current figures against sold listings, not asking prices alone.
Where to Buy Fake Rolex Milgauss
Parameters that set the price
- Dial. The Z-Blue dial, introduced in 2014, holds the top premium. Black and white dials sit lower.
- Crystal. The green sapphire gives the model its GV code. A green crystal on a non-GV case signals an aftermarket part or a fake.
- Case. 40 mm steel, smooth bezel, 100 m water resistance. The Milgauss has no date and no crown guards.
- Movement. Caliber 3131, rated to resist 1,000 gauss. The seconds hand is a lightning bolt.
- Papers. Match the warranty card serial to the case serial. Paper cards ran to 2015, plastic cards from 2015 on.
Pitfalls
- No card, no date. Undated papers cut value and block future service verification.
- Replica dials. Check coronet shape, print sharpness, and the orange lightning bolt outline at 10x magnification.
- Service cost. A Rolex service runs about $700 to $900. Add it to any watch with unknown history.
- Discontinued status. Parts remain available through Rolex service centers. New stock does not exist.
